Tasting notes :

Colour : amber.

Nose : aromatic complexity, floral notes typical of the cru mixed with the power of rancio and honeysuckle, spicy notes (cinnamon, clove, vanilla).

Palate : smooth, round, balanced, woody notes, honey, spices (pepper, clove).

Finish : long, persistent, very pleasant rancio.

Cru : Petite Champagne. Terroir : straddling the Charente and Charente-Maritime departments, Petite Champagne is a geographical area covering 66,000 hectares, of which around 15,000 hectares are dedicated to vineyards for the production of this eau-de-vie. The main towns in this area are Barbezieux, Archiac and Jonzac. Petite Champagne ranks second, behind Grande Champagne, in the order of Cognac crus. While the eaux-de-vie from these two crus have similar characteristics, those from Petite Champagne display remarkable finesse and supple aromas. It's the very nature of the soil that explains the demarcation between the two crus and their respective qualities. Geology reveals that the limestone layers are thinner in Petite Champagne. Of course, as neighbours, they enjoy identical climatic conditions.

Grape variety : Ugni blanc.

Ageing : minimum 14 years in French oak barrels.

Un-chillfiltered.

Natural colour. No added sugar, caramel or wood.
