Tasting notes :
Colour : amber with mahogany highlights.
Nose : complex, with notes of dried fruit (prune, fig, apricot), candied mandarin, dark chocolate, vanilla and rancio.
Palate : full-bodied, with silky tannins and notes of honey, toasted nut, leather and spices.
Finish : long, with woody and beeswax notes.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Cru : Fins Bois. Clay-limestone soil.
Distillation on lees.
Harvest : 1947.
Ageing : for many years (well beyond the legal minimum) in French oak casks.
